You don’t need to be a writer. A few real details about the person make a better song than a long list of compliments. Think about:
- Their name, what people call them, and how old they’re turning if the number matters.
- What they’re like: the laugh, the habit, the thing they always say.
- Birthday traditions: the cake they ask for, the party game, the year something went wrong and became a family story.
- What they love: hobbies, food, music, teams, pets.
- What you want to say to them on this birthday, in your own words.

Five star tips for birthday songs.
These are the choices that most often make the difference between an okay song and one you want to play again.
- Pick the tone before you write. Funny, heartfelt or both? Say so in your first sentence, for example “playful and a little teasing” or “warm and sincere.” Then match it with a Mood/Style (Joyful, Uplifting or Tender). The tone changes the lyrics more than any other choice.
- Use the age only if it helps the story. A 50th, an 80th or a first birthday has its own material: what changed and what stayed the same. If the age is a running joke, say so. If they would rather not hear their age sung, leave it out.
- Add two or three of their real habits. “Texts in all caps,” “burns the toast,” “last to leave every party.” People recognize themselves in lines like these.
- Put one memory with you in it. The road trip, the birthday spent in a waiting room with balloons. A shared moment makes the song sound like it comes from you and not from a card.
- Keep teasing kind. Use jokes they would laugh at in front of their family, and leave out anything that would sting. Vulgar language and personal attacks aren’t allowed.

Can I make it funny?
Yes. Say so in your first sentence and include jokes that are true and kind. The AI can still overdo or misread humor, so listen to both previews first. Vulgar language and lyrics that personally attack a person aren’t allowed.
How far ahead should I order?
